Artwine

Our Story

About Artwine

We established our South Australian Artwine brand in 2008 after many years of vineyard production and the planting of new-emerging varieties on our vineyards.

We are a first generation family that have created a passionate wine business entirely on "Alternative varieties" - these are the new (to Australia) Mediterranean varieties that create and drive our wine passion.

Why do we love these new varieties so much?  They are food friendly, lighter in style and have complexity of flavours that are both interesting and awaken our palates. We are fast becoming a nation of foodies with exposure to the flavours of Europe, our wines excite and complement.

The "Old World" wines become "New World".

We firmly believe this is the wine future of Australia. We are committed to sustainability in the wine industry by pioneering new varieties that are climatically appropriate and appease the broadening consumer wine tastes. Recently we have made a huge investment into solar power.

We are pioneers in many of our initial plantings, the first to plant Fiano, Graciano and Viognier in the Clare Valley and today are the only Adelaide Hills Cellar Door offering an estate grown Prosecco and AlbariƱo.

Artwine Success

We have been awarded in just a few short years an incredible 25 trophies and numerous medals and accolades.

2020 will be remembered as a very strange year. We lost our entire Hills vintage to the Cudlee Creek bushfires in December 2019 and then along came Covid and subsequently many wine shows were cancelled.

Vintage 2021, we can happily report has given us an outstanding year producing exceptional quality and wonderful fruit flavours. This coupled with srong yields has created a near perfect vintage.

Vintage 2022 gave us superb quality but lower yields, we wait in anticipation for vintage 2023.
