Vintage 2025

2025 Vintage has begun!

It's been a long hot summer for us here in SA and vintage which has just begun with a vengeance and is three weeks earlier than normal. Whilst we are desperate for some rain, the vines that needed it have been watered and are looking happy and healthy. Some older vines are dry-grown and cope perfectly on their own with no additional irrogation.

The poor local fauna have also suffered from the heat and have been hanging around looking for water, happy to help!

Now to wine, we are thrilled to be producing a vintage of Ti Amo Arneis from our new vines in the Hills - so watch our for that one mid year. This will be a club member only wine, due to the first year of estate grown vines and a smaller quantity.

And drumroll........ our first vintage of Falanghina (what is that I hear you ask?) Falan-gee-nah is an Italian variety from Campania, Southern Italy (same region as our much loved Wicked Stepmother Fiano) - so hold tight we will most likely leave on lees for a period of time (Lees are leftover yeast particles from autolysis, which is the self-destruction of the yeast cells during fermentation.) Lees are used in both white and sparkling wines to add more complexity of flavours and texture such as we have previously done for our Spanish Queen, Albarino and Masterpiece, Grenache Gris.

We hope to see you at Cellar Door soon and remember all wines that are available for purchase are online, free shipping for a dozen.

Cheers - but for now, it's back to vintage and creating more delicious wines for you.
